Brief:
- To create 12 other-worldly 'environments' as part of the image content for the London launch of the famous South African gin, 'Malachite'.
- To connect Londoners to the incredible world of Fynbos which is 'a unique type of vegetation found in the Cape Floristic Region of South Africa. It's characterised by its high plant diversity, with over 9,000 species, many of which are found nowhere else on Earth.'
- Some Fynbos herb extracts are used in 'Malachite' and it is made, in Cape Town, South Africa.
- Using my collection of rare rocks, stones and crystals, dried and fresh Fynbos, I created these seemingly, floating in space, out-of-this-world environments, for 10 cocktails and 2 bottle shots.
- I worked with the incredibly talented photographer, Jan Ras, who I call the 'Lighting King'.
- For me, the crux of the success of this shoot, to make it exceptional, was the lighting.
It would bring these environments into the cosmic realm that was my vision.
Jan is a master and we worked together for days, as we have before on many a project, to get it right.
